When we say something out loud or write it down on paper, our minds automatically focus on this thought and can begin to recognize its truthfulness over time. By repeating affirmations regularly throughout the day, we're essentially setting up little signposts along our inner journey toward happiness, self-love, and fulfillment.
For example: “I am strong” is a positive affirmation because it's saying something good about oneself, which can then change one's behavior. If one thinks they are strong then they will act accordingly. This means that after repeating this statement over time with an open mind, you might actually become stronger than before—which would make it true!

Get in touch with any dreams you may have, and reflect on the type of person you’d like to be. This will be useful information to have before you begin creating the powerful statements.
As a beginner with affirmations, you may want to start by writing out many “I am” statements. Get into a relaxed groove of writing out everything you’d like to be. Try to feel into the phrases, and allow yourself to become emotionally charged. The more emotion felt behind each affirmation, the stronger it will be. The more you can lean into believing the statement, the more your subconscious mind will catch on!
Saying your affirmations out loud can also have a profound affect. Remember, the goal of these phrases is to shift the beliefs in the subconscious mind. Hearing yourself say the words out loud persuades your mind they must be true. An excellent and fast way to shift your beliefs is to repeat your favorite “I am” statements in the mirror. You are literally telling yourself how fantastic you are! Soon, the outer world will reflect your newfound positive beliefs.
